Dussehra festival is so crucial that goes back to Ramayana. It is also called Vijayadashami in the Hindu text. The day also marks the demise of Ravana’s mature ego and the triumph of good from evil. The name Dussehra is derived from the Sanskrit language, where “Dus” stands for ten and “Hara” signifies destruction. Thus, these two words incorporate the meaning “Destroying the ten evil faces by the hand of King Lamana”.
It is a ceremony found in the great Hindu Ramayana origin that Lord Raman, the eighth image of King Vishnu, killed the ten-headed devil Ravana in Satyuga. It is because Ravana kidnapped Lord Rama Sita’s wife while she was on the Devi Sita rescue train, followed by Laxamana and Hanuman.
